The task of the meeting coordination refers to the organization of the meetings/full assembly meetings and the student council in general. This requires preparing meeting notices and inviting guests. The meeting coordinator can, but does not have to, take the lead in speaking at meetings of the Student Council.

The name of this task is the detailed recording of the minutes of the meetings. This is done by working from a template at each meeting and checking the attendance of members of the council/co-optees. Also the planned topics from the meeting announcement are taken over into the protocol.

The task here is to keep track of or answer both the physical mail from our mailbox and the e-mail correspondence. This includes maintaining the student council email account. However, when understaffed, this task is taken on by several council members.

The task of the treasurer is the same as that of a treasurer. The appointed person manages the funds of the student council through direct communication with the AStA. This includes all purchases and contracts that come up to the student council such as the ESAG of biology or the biology trip. This person is also prepared for this task by means of a treasurer training.

The annual First Semester Study Group (Erstsemsterarbeitsgemeinschaft: ESAG) offers students of the first semester of the respective year the opportunity to get a foothold in the university. After the first days of the general ESAG, we as the student council of the biology department try to make your start into the biology studies as easy as possible. The FSVK stands for the Fachschaften-Vertretenden-Konferenz. At this conference, the student councils of all disciplines and the AStA are networked with each other and represented before the university as a whole. Organizational activities such as room bookings, SP hall administration or the organization of the general ESAG are carried out by the Fachschaften-Referat. The appointed persons are considered as mediators of the student council to the different equality departments of the AStA. These include the women's/lesbian department, the department for gay and bisexual students, the department for trans, inter and non-binary students, the department for accessibility and the department for international students. Questions, suggestions and also complaints that come to us are discussed, processed and also solved with the respective department of the AStA. As the name suggests, the appointed person maintains the website and social media channels of the student council. This includes direct communication with the students and the promotion of e.g. events or HiWi jobs. This task is usually performed by several people, each of whom is then responsible for one channel.

The QVM forms a committee with several instances in which funds are allocated for quality-improving resources (qualitäts-verbessernde Mittel). As the Biology Student Council, we can express our support or opposition for various purchases/projects, which in most cases, have to do with the teaching of biology. These include laboratory equipment, support staff, and the biology trip.

The Student Advisory Board discusses and enacts matters of teaching and studying as well as improvements to these. Changes to the respective examination regulations can also be initiated here. The advisory board is represented by the faculty council, the dean and also by us as student representatives. In this committee, all relevant topics concerning examinations and theses are discussed. This includes, for example, applications for bachelor's/master's theses or the need for clarification regarding grading. This committee meets regularly and then votes on the respective applications. As a student council, we have a say with two representatives. The WE Biology (or Department of Biology) represents the subject/teaching of Biology within the University. Questions of teaching, course offerings, examinations or appeals are handled there. Also, the student advising of biology is provided by the WE-Biology. Furthermore, reports from the various committees are collected and discussed here. We as the student council are also represented here.
