Das Center for Advanced Imaging (CAI) sucht einen Studierenden (m/w/d) für die Durchführung einer experimentellen Masterarbeit im Bereich High-Content-Screening und Assay Development.

Die genaue Ausgestaltung der Masterarbeit wird mit der/dem Bewerber/in gemäß den bisherigen Erfahrungen und/ oder Interessensschwerpunkten durchgeführt werden. Der Praktikumsbeginn kann variabel abgestimmt werden, frühestens jedoch im April 2024.

 

Formale Anforderungen:

• Eingeschriebener Studierender (m/w/d) im Masterstudiengang Biologie oder molekulare Biomedizin

• Projektpraktikum, Projektarbeit und Masterarbeit sollen auf der genannten Position absolviert werden

• Selbstständiges Arbeiten

• Hohes Maß an Verlässlichkeit und Verantwortungsbewusstsein

• Fähigkeit und Wunsch eigene Ideen zu entwickeln

Notwendige Laborkenntnisse/- erfahrungen:

• Erfahrung mit der Pflege von mind. einer Säugerzellkultur

• Arbeit mit Proben im Multi-Well-Format (von Vorteil)

• Grundlagen Fluoreszenzmikroskopie

• Erfahrung und/ oder Kenntnisse von automatisierter Bildanalyse/ -quantifizierung (z. B. mit Fiji oder CellProfiler)

• Statistische Auswertung und Präsentation großer Datenmengen

• Literaturrecherche

• Erfahrung oder Grundlagenkenntnisse von Python oder R (von Vorteil)

Alle genannten Punkte genügen als Grundlagenkenntnisse und sollten anhand vorheriger Praktika nachvollziehbar sein. Sollten nicht alle Grundlagenkenntnisse vorliegen, so sollte der Wunsch bestehen, sich diese zu Beginn des Praktikums anzueignen und im Verlauf eigenständig auszubauen.

Laborsprache ist Deutsch und Englisch, aber alle Präsentationen und Dokumente werden in englischer Sprache gehalten/ verfasst

Wen suchen wir?

• Masterand*in mit fortgeschrittenen Kenntnissen in molekularbiologischen Arbeiten (vorherige Praktika, Erfahrung als wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft)

• Studium der Biologie, Pharmakologie o.ä.

• Fähigkeit zur selbstständigen Arbeit nach einer Einarbeitungsphase • FELASA Zertifikat hilfreich, aber nicht notwendig

• Falls entsprechende Voraussetzungen vorhanden sind, ist auch eine medizinische Doktorarbeit bei uns möglich

 

Was sind deine Aufgaben?

• Hauptsächlich Bearbeitung von tierischen Proben (Kryogewebe) sowie Zellkultur (auch primäre) und Untersuchung von Targets entlang des Nekroptosesignalweges

• Methoden beinhalten RNA-, Proteinextraktionen, RT-PCRs, Isolation primärer Zellen aus Maus (Arbeit am toten Tier), Zellkultur und Behandlung von Zellen mittels etablierter Protokolle, histologische Färbungen und Auswertungen von bereits generierten Proben

• Mind. 5 Monate Vollzeit Laborarbeit

 

Prinzipiell solltest du bereits grundlegende Arbeitsweisen im Labor (Pipettieren, steriles Arbeiten) beherrschen. Gewisse Grundkenntnisse der Onkologie wären auch hilfreich. Ansonsten kann mit der gewissen Motivation alles notwendige in der Einarbeitungsphase erlernt werden.

We are seeking motivated PhD students or Master thesis students for the new the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre “Inhibitory neurons: shaping the cortical code” (IN-CODE) to perform exciting projects in the field of cellular/ systems interneuron-neuroscience.

The position is available for an immediate start, preferably in April 2024.

The research group Immune Pathophysiology at the Department of Surgery invites applications for a PhD Student Position (m/f/d) (part-time position 65 %).

The position is funded by the German research council (DFG) and available from spring 2024 for a period of 3 years.

Scientific goal:

Postoperative wound healing disturbances within the GI tract are one of the most dreaded complications of abdominal surgery. Visceral fat plays an essential role in the healing process.

In this project, we aim to understand the role of specific immune cells in the colon and mesenteric and visceral fat during intestinal wound healing.

The PhD position will be integrated into the local graduate program BIGS Immunosciences and Infection with outstanding training opportunities in multidisciplinary, interconnected scientific fields.

Additional mentoring and networking opportunities will support it.

 

Requirements

• High intrinsic motivation and enthusiasm, as well as a deep interest in Biomedicine and Intestinal Immunlogy

• Master's degree or diploma in Life Science (Biology, Biomedicine, Molecular Medicine or comparable fields of study)

• Basic knowledge in intestinal research and/or immunology.

• Expertise in flow cytometry and in in vivo models is appreciated.

• English or German skills at C1 level or higher
